Favorite Artist!

I love love love Bruno Mars! I don’t think there is a single song of his that I don’t like. He is a brilliant artist that knows how to touch your heart with just one ring of a note. When I first heard his songs on the radio I couldn’t believe how talented he is and how every song gets to you. I already know he will get very far, because he is already coming up with number one hits on the radio and worldwide.

A little about him
Bruno Mars was born on October 8, 1985 in Honolulu, Hawaii and he is currently 27 years old. Bruno Mars is part Puerto Rican, Jewish, and Filipino. His musical styles contain many different styles but pop, reggae, soul, and hip hop are the ones that stand out.

Some of my favorite songs I really love by him are…”Just the way you are”, “When I was your man” and “Marry me.”

Here are some music videos of him!

"When I was your man"

"Just the way you are"

"Locked out of Heaven"

Assigned Entry #2: Slanted Reporting Quest

Think back to a time when you were sitting on your couch watching those morning news, really getting into them and getting interested on what they are saying. Without you even knowing, you might have been experiencing slanted reporting while watching. Many news channels are accused of reporting only one side of the story, and having incomplete reporting; meaning they are only reporting the side of the story they want you to know and believe. This has become more and more common lately with different news broadcast and many people are criticizing it. Being a news reporter is not easy at all. They have to try to stay neutral on the topic they are discussing, and not only lean to one side of the story.

A news channel that has took central stage for this type of reporting has been, Fox News. A topic that they talked about in their news, that became controversial, was when they allegedly said that Barack Obama was Muslim. Their reports, when they where talking about him only showed pictures of Obama with Muslim in a friendly manner, and they had many guest that also thought that our president was Muslim when discussing the topic. Even tough Fox News claims that they never said Obama is a Muslim, you can judge yourself by watching the clip below…

Fox news has also been accused for its tendency to support the Republican Party. If you don't believe me you need to watch these videos below!

Notice how the man in the back with the grey sweater is nodding his head in disagreement at .26 seconds.
Also when the reporter ask how many think John McCain did better with the economy, only 8 people raised their hand out of like 26 people! The reporter still said that half of them where in favor of John McCain when it was not true

Now watch this one! Notice how on this one everybody started laughing at the reporter becasue of how bias he was on his report.

Kids are my passion! Teaching is my game!

Every since I was a child, I’ve always wanted to be a teacher. I would always play teacher with my friends, pretending I was the teacher and my friend the students. I would put on my moms high heels and act like a teacher. Those are moments I will never forget, because now I’m 18, and my passion for becoming a teacher has not changed or faded.

I’m currently studying to become a teacher here at GCC. After I finish here I’m thinking of transferring to either NAU or GCU, not sure yet. But one thing is for sure I’m so exited to start working as a teacher at an elementary school. Just knowing that I will be making a difference in another child’s life, already feels so rewarding. I’m so stoked to be the one that will be preparing our future generation. So watch out guys! I may just be your child’s future teacher.

Assigned Entry #1: Blogs, Blogs, Blogs!!

When Mr. Nielson gave us the news that for the second semester of English we were going to continue with the blog assignments I was completely exited and thrilled. Blogging is already something in my alley, because I had taken Mr. Nielson English 101 class last semester. Before ever taken Mr. Nielson class, I had never done any type of blogging before, in fact I did not even know what blogging meant. Once I started gaining more experience with this, I started to grow an excitement for blogs, every time I started one. Soon blogging became something I would enjoy doing for this class.

One of the blogs I enjoy reading very much is the Perez Hilton blog. Perez Hilton is a very controversial blogger that talks about celebrity gossip in his blogs. He has gained attention by posting tabloid photographs where he adds his own captions or in other words his own little “doodles”. In his blogs he informs his readers about what’s the latest news with their celebrities and he also sometime criticizes celebrities. Perez Hilton has come to be a very famous and successful blogger. I personally enjoy reading his blog because, I know for sure that it will keep me entertained, leaving me wanting for more.

Another blog I enjoy reading is the Kendall and Kylie Blog. This is a personal/fashion blog in which they talk about their life, family, beauty and fashion.

Financial Blogs are very formal and these are my least favorite ones. They inform the readers how to save money and how they can invest money to makes lots of money in the future. Many people find these blogs helpful and love getting every advice possible on how to save their money. The reason why I have this attitude towards these types of blogs is because they speak in a very boring manner with high vocabulary that I don’t understand.
