This isn't a goodbye...
Certainly blogging has been an amazing experience that taught me a lot. It taught me how to engage more my audience, taking in consideration who was my audience. Blogs were the place where we could put our rhetoric skills into practice so when we wrote our writing projects it could be noticeable that we were getting good at it. I seriously loved blogging because for me it wasn’t just another boring assignment on top of my tall, dusty pile of homework to do. It was an assignment that I actually had fun doing it and looked forward to doing it. Blooging helped expressed my feelings and thoughts and it helped me get away from all the stress of other homework.
One of my favorite things about blogging was looking through other people’s blogs. It’s incredible how every single person has a different writing style and tone. By just simply reading a person’s blog you can get an idea of that person’s personality. Some people have a more professional style while other bloggers express their thought in a more comfortable an engaging style.
I personally learned that in order to make your blogging experience successful you must appeal to audience visually and have an articulate content. The first thing a person sees when he lands on your blog posts is the visual content. If it looks dull and boring your audience will not even consider spending one more second on your blog. Having good content is also as important because you want to be able to communicate your ideas in the best smoothly manner.
A suggestion I would give to Chris is to keep doing what he is already doing!:) Giving students the opportunity to express their feeling through blogging and at the same time helping them develop their writing skills. A piece of advice I would give to future students that will start blogging in this class would be to write from your heart, be honest while blogging and take this blogging experience seriously. Like I said in the beginning this isn’t a goodbye or a farewell because I honestly plan to write my own blog when I become an elementary teacher.
I think you hit the nail on the head when you said "By just simply reading a person’s blog you can get an idea of that person’s personality." When you read someones blog you get more information about them especially if they dont really speak up in class. You understand their writing style and some of the things they are into. Blogging gives us the chance to express more of ourselves and is fun to do. It should stay for sure!
ReplyDeleteBlogging a.k.a the stress reliever lol. I found it amazing that you found all of the words I was thinking about earlier when I was writing my blog. Blogging did take some of the stress out of doing my other homework. I couldn't agree with you more. It is a great way of getting to know someones personality.
ReplyDeleteI agree with you, blogging does get peoples attention if there are visual that appeal to us. Blogging (self generated) was a good way to get to know others, their blogs were very well done. I hope you do continue doing blogs once you're a teacher.
